Based on smart card technology which is compliant to the latest ISO 7816 standard, the system adds two-factor security for passwords, Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP ™log-on, VPNs, web authorization, public key encryption, digital certificates and digital signatures.
Hardware independence
Ability to automatically recognize and work with the broadest spectrum of equipment, including:
- Schlumberger and Siemens smart cards and smart card readers;
- Wide range of proximity, contact and contactless cards;
- Rainbow Technologies iKey USB Smart Tokens, Aladdin Corporation USB Tokens and Eutron Crypto Identity USB Tokens;
- Rainbow Technologies’ iButtons and Dallas Semiconductors Touch Memory;
- USB Flash Disks of various vendors. For example Eutron bootable Flash disks allow completely secure user workstation by storing boot information (NTLoader) and user and password information on a Flash disk
- Sony Memory Stick and Panasonic Secure Digital memory cards.
Simultaneous storage and independent management of multiple personalized digital keys on one card
This important feature provides a means of separating access to a personal computers operating system (OS); local, corporate and wide-area network information resources; and corporate applications.
Scalability
The system is able to work either with or without a central certificate management infrastructure, like Microsoft Certificate Server ® or Entrust PKI products. Therefore users might benefit from this system both from staying within the corporate network and whilst roaming with no connection to the Certificate providers.
Ease of installation and deployment
Installation tools for centralized installation of the system on networked computers and full integration of user and password management options with the Microsoft Active Directory help administrators to easily distribute and manage the system within corporate networks.
Integration with physical access control systems
SmartLogon’ ability to work with different “proximity” cards allows clients to use one card for gaining physical access to office premises and control access to computers and information systems.
